Well, the title may have been a bit deceiving, we weren't chugging through Chattanooga on THE Chattanooga Choo-Choo...but we were doing things in Chattanooga today...chugging around the river walk.
We finally had a nice weekend when it wasn't really cold or raining, so I thought we ought to head up to Chattanooga and wander around the river walk and parks in that area. We started out on the north side of the river in the Northside district where there are lots of cool shops and cafes and a few hippies! There, we could walk across one of the longest pedestrian bridges in the world- the Walnut Street Bridge, to the downtown area, where the aquarium and kids museum were. We found a neat little playground down that way on the river and stopped to rest for a while. On our way back, we hit up the main attraction-and main purpose- of our trip-the 115 year old restored carousel! Jacob was OBSESSED with the horses and other animals he got to ride (we obviously rode numerous times) and did NOT want to leave- it was painful for us all- trust me.
Anyway, we had a great morning seeing more of the city- I really love it here, there is so much to do! Next on our to-do list is Lookout Moutain and Chattanooga Choo Choo!
