Lame Titled Post

With all this March Madness going around, and Clemson playing last week, we decided to forgo St. Patrick's Day green for some orange and purple:

Yep, they donned their matching Clemson wind suits for the big day (which turned out not to be such a big day for the Tigers after all)
We had a pretty nice weather week last week, so there were lots of playgrounds in our schedules!

 More Jacob and Xander

Looking an awful lot like a billy goat on the top of the pseudo-mtn. at Mt. Trashmore (a once-landfill, turned into a huge park...kind of like Parks and Rec!!!)

As you can infer from the picture, comfy pants are the new jeggings in our house--they're the go-to pant for all outings and there's no shame in our game about wearing them!

Jacob gets away from us at Mt. Trashmore

Then we flew by the seat of our pants off to the river for the weekend to celebrate Grandma and Papa's 55th anniversary!!

Enjoying the plethora of stones to throw at the beach

The marathon egg hunter (he had us hide eggs probably 15 times that weekend)

It's a Bird, it's a plane...no it's a bird for sure.

What kind of bird do you think would be important enough for me to designate an entire post's title to?  Well, obviously it's this bird:

That's right, a bald eagle, in the wild.

Oh no! Did I make him mad?

Nope, it was this pesky seagull.

  How majestic.

Notice, there are 2 bald eagles pictured here.  Hey what are you guys doing with those lower class birds?

Oh, I see.  You went fishing and they wanted to share.  By the way, that is a big fish.

These pictures/moments were captured when Lindsey and I decided to go for a walk at her Grandparents' house.  These guys have a nest about 300 yards away from their house on the beach.  We stalked them and scared them a couple times.  As we left this morning, we drove by and saw them sitting in their tree again.  Pretty cool stuff.

Pictures from the Aquarium Advenure Last Week

Jacob and his buddy Xander had a big time at the aquarium, as mentioned in previous post.  Since I (once again) forgot the camera, Sam was kind enough to send me a few of hers that came out pretty well.  Please notice that the last picture was supposed to be of just Xander and the crocodile...and then Jacob popped in!

A Hodge Podge of a Week

I feel like we were really busy again this week, but with really random things like:

  • cleaning the house, with the help of "Peter, the worker man" (Jacob's cleaning man alias)
  • aquarium with friends...where Jacob and his bud (against orders) ran, dove, and rolled their way through the exhibits.  It wasn't really non-stop craziness like the previous sentence would insinuate, but there was a lot of energy there, that's for sure!
  • errands and visiting with some other friends and fabric shopping (whoohoo)
  • Bible study with baked goods (whoop whoop)
  • more playing with friends in store for tomorrow morning

While all this was going on here, Jeff was out of town (again!), which added another element to the above list!  I did manage to take a few pictures throughout the week of some cool stuff and here we go:

Thomas bounces along in his johnny jump up device while Jacob tries his best to take him for a "real" ride on that swing while I'm not looking

Pardon the shadowy shot, but this is the best picture to show the "Cars" shorts I made for Jacob...and these would be the same shorts that he has worn every day this week from the moment he walks in the door til the moment he hops in bed (and then obviously all clothes come off)
Another funny shot of Jacob, when he was copying me today--he was saying everything that I said, trying to do everything that I do,etc. so he went in my closet and grabbed this tunic, which ended up looking an awful lot like a dress on the little man...I believe this is the first time I've ever seen him like this!

During nap/bedtimes this week, I finally got to try out my new pattern I had bought a few weeks ago for short/longalls!  The pattern worked out just like I had hoped and I am already pumped to make 8,000 more just like it for the summer/fall!  P.S It's reversible!!!!!!!

And in case there was any doubt as to who would be wearing that little get-up, it's him!  ( But if this one ends up being too small by the time warm weather gets here, it will be going to my cousin who just had a baby boy in January...assuming she wants it!!)

Week at the River with a 4 yr. old and 3 month old!

Jeff had to go out of town for work again this week, so we decided to pack up and head up the road to my grandparent's house for the week.  This was my first trip with just me and the two boys and it went just fine.  Jacob rested his head and eyes for a lot of the trip (no sleeping of course!) and Thomas slept most of the way---except for stoplights---just like Jacob used to do :(

We didn't have any big plans for the week except for---HOBBY LOBBY in Fredericksburg!  I mean, how I've gone a year and a half without a Hobster Lobster, I will never know.  There is also a nice consignment store up that way that I wanted to hit up as well.  Mom and Thomas and I went up on Wednesday to do those couple things and it was a success!  I found some cool fabric at HobLob (when I love a store, I make up nicknames for it) and got some pretty sweet deals (including a pair of Robeez for like $6!!) at the consignment shop.  We topped off the afternoon with lunch at this Italian place in Old Towne that I really like!  Thomas mostly behaved himself--but what does it matter because Grammy was there to carry him whenever he got mad anyway!--and only pooped through one outfit!

It was pretty cold this week so there was not a lot of outdoor activity.  We went for a walk one day--Grammy pushing Thomas in the stroller, Jacob carrying his baby (her name's Lindsey--I didn't ask if he spells it with an "e" or "a")in my front carrier thingy, and me just along for the ride.  We detoured at the pier and I took the opportunity to snap some pics:

Jacob and I went for a little jog one day so he could get his "blood pumping and heart pumping".  He did a pretty good job for not running in a while--he ran about 3/4 mile!!

While all this was taking place, Thomas was busy turning 3 months old!  He, just this week, has gotten a LOT more vocal!  He was babbling before, but now it's become constant.  He also rolled over a few more times this week (out of sheer desperation to get off his tummy).  Oh yes, and last week he laughed out loud at Grandma Judy!  He has only laughed one more time (at me) despite all of my ridiculousness!  I don't know what the boy weighs, but he weighs a lot I think.  I would say 4/7 nights a week he sleeps for an 8 hour stretch which is great news!
