Not So Frequent Posting

I'm back with a few pictures and videos from my phone to share.  We've had a real up and down past month (10 months, I should say, but most recently, this last month), with James seeming to be eating better, sleeping better, feeling better (happier while awake), etc. followed by sickness, fussiness, discontentment, and little eating.  Oh yes, and teeth.   He finally got his first tooth at just shy of 10 months.  Oh yes, and Jeff was gone to AZ two weeks ago.  So, for every good day it seems like we've had at least 2 bad...which makes my rosy little plans for blogging every once in a blue moon go right out the window!  Here's what we did in July(and June and a random May) (besides all of the above):

James learned to drive.  Finally.

Tom learned to feed James while Jacob did VBS one week

This is from forever ago...the boys with their friend Kyle at his birthday party at one of those giant trampoline parks.

Jacob and his friend Sylvia after CBS one day

Our sweet buddy Anna caring for James

Ice cream with friends after CBS another day

Strawberry picking...I thought the boys would love it (we've been every year), but they hated it.  Like truly hated it.  They were hot and miserable.  This picture was at the beginning before they realized they hated it.

And once they had given up, I was left with the baby strapped on me, squat-walking down the rows picking berries myself so we could at least half way fill up the buckets...because SOME of us want strawberries!

We fancied up the downstairs bathroom with paint and beaded board wallpaper.

Jacob got a summer mowhawk

Jacob and Tom enjoy some popsicles after a hot day washing the car and shoveling mud around.  Tom was so hot, he took off all his clothes and just hung around outside like that.

This picture looked so angelic to me...Thomas was by himself, carefully writing something and then neatly filing it away in his drawing folder.

James fell out of the stroller on his head.  Oopsies!

Jacob taught Thomas how to draw Lego Ninjago ninjas...I'd say Thomas did a pretty good job with these guys! (Jacob just did the eyes on the blue ninja, and Thomas did the rest) And that is the tail of their sash that's hanging down between their legs...because I know you're curious.

There's always a party when you bring the tangrams out! Jacob has depicted a hunter with a spear on the far right of the scene, his bow and arrow to the left, and the spear striking the lion at the bottom.

I made what will (hopefully) one day be the light fixture in the laundry room.  It's clothespins that I stained and clipped to hardware cloth.

Thomas sing veryyyyyy loud when he knows the words to a song.  Here he is singing, "YOU ARE STWONGER, YOU ARE STWONGER, SIN IS BWOKEN, YOU HAVE SAVED ME! IT IS WISEN(RISEN), CHWIST(CHRIST) IS WISEN(RISEN), JESUS YOU ARE LOOWUD(LORD) OF ALL!"

James is willing to put anything in his mouth in an effort (I assume) to relieve those nagging sore gums.  This particular day, I put him in the sink with a pepper.  Then he was happy.

This was my view from the office at the bank where I opened James his account (finally).  Tom spent a lot of the time under the chair, laying down sucking his thumb and playing with his belly button.  James spent most of the time crawling out of the room and halfway across the lobby while I signed something.  Jacob read.

James thoroughly enjoyed his first ride in the car cart..I am not always a fan of the maneuverability of the car carts, but since he was thrilled with it, I'll learn to deal:)  When he rides next to Thomas in a cart, he always ends up trying to eat Thomas.  Thomas almost always has snot from James on his face and in his hair.  And sweet Thomas doesn't care.

Wondering what type of bug got my basil plant?  Well wonder no more.  It was the James bug.  He LOVES to go out and stand by the basil plant and bat at it and eat it...this is what it looks like after he's done with it.

Jacob insisted on trapping James in his fort he made with sofa cushions.
