Although I feel that these pictures speak for themselves, I will write some captions...purely for your entertainment

The ultimate in Mexican delicacies...a loaded hot dog, and for any of you who know me, you know that I am quite fond of impressive hot dog pictures...I will post some pictures of hot dogs I made in college at a later date.

Lindsey scales one of the Mayan pyramids in Coba...the tallest of the pyramids on the Yucatan peninsula that are still open to the public to climb.

Lindsey and Jeff in Playa del Carmen, at the resort there..this was
before we tried to "barter" (read: insult the Mexicans with our outlandishly low offers) in the shops with every Mexican who crossed our path...hey, I was excited I could speak Spanish with my little friends.

Cave woman, Lindsey shows off her treasure..a rotted coconut!
This may or may not be the final posting from the honeymoon...there were lots more pics, but I don't know how much more I feel like doing! One interesting thing I can share is our excursion we went on...oh, and Jeff's massage that he got. Those are two swell stories.
1.) Jeff's Massage
Since we spent a week at a resort where the spa was the main attraction, we decided to hit it up one day and get a couple massages...this was Jeff's first massage, and I guess I wasn't really thinking about that when I suggested doing the full body. I'm not going to give any of the gory details, but let's just say that Jeff wasn't feelin' it. He actually told me that at one point he laughed out loud because he felt like the girl was tickling his feet! HAHAAHAHA
2.) Excursion...Best Day Ever?
Well, the jury's still out on whether this was the best day ever...we did EVERYTHING we wanted to do in the Riviera Maya...all in one trip! We started the day out nice and early at 7 am, then drove to Coba where we went around and climbed the Mayan ruins, hired a little man to drive us around on his mega-bike, and took touristy pictures in the jungle. Next, and without any of our promised "food", we headed off in our van to the next random location...to do a zip line, and a little rappeling. When we did the zip line, we felt the safety equipment was questionable...at best...the "brake" that we were to use when we got to the end of the zip line was a stick that had a little branch sticking out of the top of it...kind of like a hook, which we were to put over the top of the wire and pull down on to slow us. The back up safety brake was a foam noodle...that's right, as in the noodle that you use in the pool...which was threaded on the wire and would catch you at the end. I guess the safety apparatus for the rappeling was OK...I just tried not to look too closely. Then, without any of our promised "food", we hiked back up from the bottom of the jungle area that we had rappelled down into...back to our van...and to our next random location. At this next stop, we did a little sea kayaking through a river area, over to the edge of the jungle, where we hopped out, and hiked a bit. We hiked to one of the many cenotes in the area...which are underground caverns basically...but they are filled with water, and you can swim in them! The hole we had to climb down into was so tight that we literally had to back down and duck our heads...then you climb down into a pitch black cave and jump in the water! WOOHOOO! I swam around a little with the guide where she showed me some of the tunnels that head off every which way...I did not go in one of those tunnels, don't worry. At this point, we got out of the cenote, and took part in a Mayan ritual ceremony where the man cleansed us with his "mini smoking Olympic torch", as Jeff called it. It is only after ALL OF THIS that we finally got back in the van---at 3:30 in the AFTERNOON, and headed back to go get our promised lunch! As you can see by the first picture of this blog entry to make the cut, we are pretty big fans of "food" and "eating food", so when you put us in a position where we only get to eat once every NINE HOURS...we get a little testy. So, to make a long story short...wahahahah, I've never done that in my life!...we were happy that we got to do everything we really wanted to do while in Mexico, but we were sad that they didn't want us to eat all day!
