A Little Excitement for your Wednesday Afternoon!
Because we have still not been doing anything really exciting lately, and therefore have no pictures for you, I will start posting news from other people's lives!
My friend, Maria (the one whose wedding was back in December) is working to be a HITMAKER, aka a songwriter, and is very talented! She sent me a CD a couple months back which I really liked, but was unable to share with you because of my lacking techno-talent. BUT NOW---she has made a video and uploaded it to You Tube, so I can link you up to that fo' sho!
As a little background, there is a new Bravo reality series called "Hitmakers" which will be about aspiring songwriters, and this is her audition tape! I don't know when they find out if they made it or not, but I'll be sure to let you know when I know.

Cait's GradEEation Weekend
This weekend we got to head on down to Wilmington, NC for my sister, Caitlin's graduation from UNCW.
Grandma and Papa came here to the beach to get us on Wednesday and we left for NC on Thursday morning. I had been working myself up a little over the long car ride, seeing as how I was still getting sick numerous times throughout the day, and had only even been to the grocery store 2 times in 4 weeks! Riding in the "electro-glide" (aka the old folks' car) proved to be pretty good! Whenever I started to feel sick, I just went to sleep, and I didn't have any issues! So, woohoo for that aspect of the trip!
We went to a beach house the first night about an hour away from Wilmington to stay, and Jacob was thrilled to find that they had a chair lift installed on one of their stairways to assist the family's elderly mother (and toddlers, I'm sure) in getting upstairs! That provided a lot of entertainment!
The next day we got up and headed to Wilmington for graduation time...

On Saturday we got up and drove back to the beach house to spend the day. The plan had been to take their boat over to the beach (the house in on the intercoastal waterway) and hang out for the day, but I guess the water was too rough or something, because that never happened. Thankfully, they had a Jacob-sized swimming pool (hot tub) that he and everyone else took turns "swimming" in.

Upon arriving home last night, Jeff had fixed dinner for all of us! I don't have pictures of it, but it was good and enjoyed by all!!

The Throne of Grace
" Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need." Hebrews 4:16
I needed this reminder from Hebrews this morning! I've been struggling with some things lately--just the norm--worry and discouragement mainly, and had been actively avoiding the Throne of Grace. It sounds so silly, especially in our lives where we have seen so recently the hand of God in our lives, and have been given reason after reason to believe and trust, knowing that this life of mine is in His hands! Yet, it still comes to this sooner or later, that I stop focusing on what the Lord has promised-how He has promised to care for me, how He has offered to carry my burdens and refresh me daily-and I focus on the impossibilities of the day.
Today, it started with a perfectly timed e-mail from a friend, reminding me of the call from Jesus to come to Him as we are, sin, worries, troubles and all--and lay them before Him through prayer. After all, this is a throne of grace we are talking about here! Well, I was (and am) certainly in need of some mercy and help this morning, and taking all of this to the Lord in prayer, I am certain that my prayers have been heard (Luke 1:13) . In fact, I was certain before anything even happened---but because God is so much better than we could ever imagine, He sent some "follow up" signs, to reassure His struggling child that He had heard, He does care, and He will help.
As I was praying, the line, "If ever I loved thee, my Jesus 'tis now" from the hymn "My Jesus, I Love Thee" kept popping into my head. This is weird, because I don't know a lot of traditional hymns, and the church that we attend now doesn't do a lot of older music. So, I hopped on the computer and you-tubed the hymn and listened to a great version and was so completely moved by they lyrics of the song and how the Holy Spirit had led me to it at that particular time. THEN, as if that wasn't comforting enough, I turned on the TV so I could hook up my ipod to the stereo speakers (it's very complicated!) and you will truly not believe what was going on just then... Pat Robertson was praying (700 Club was on NBC) for "those who are feeling nauseous this morning--maybe you are pregnant, we pray that God will heal you and take away all of your pain" !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Now, again, I don't watch TV very much, and I think I've watched the 700 Club all of 2 times ever, so it was yet another example of God speaking through others to give encouragement and hope to His children when they are in their "time of need" (Heb. 4:16). And finally, their verse of encouragement on the show for that day ended with Psalm 55:22a : "Cast your burden on the Lord and He will sustain you"!!!!
God works in amazing and unexpected ways, but when He wants to get your attention, don't ever doubt that He will do it! I praise God this morning for His faithfulness to me and my family in our times of need, and I pray that you all have experienced this grace and love in your lives as well. If you don't have any clue what I'm talking about, I pray that you would 1.) ask me or someone and 2.) that God would move in your lives to show you who He is and what He has for you and your life.
