My Last 9 Months In Scripture

"The Lord will guide you continually and will satisfy your needs in a sun-scorched land and will strengthen your frame.  You will be like a well-watered garden, like a spring whose waters never fail." Is. 58:11

"For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the Lord.  For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts." Is. 55:8-9

"...though now for a little while, if necessary, you have been grieved by various trials, so that the tested genuineness of your faith, more precious than gold which perishes though it is tested by fire-may be found to result in praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ."  1 Peter 1:6-7

"Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen" Hebrews 11:1

"Therefore, they are before the throne of God, and serve him day and night in his temple, and he who sits on the throne will shelter them with his presence.  They shall hunger no more, neither thirst anymore, the sun shall not strike them, nor any scorching heat.  For the Lamb in the midst of the throne will be their shepherd, and he will guide them to springs of living water, and God will wipe away every tear from their eyes." Rev. 7"15-17

Happy Birthday Dad

And, because this is one of the most quintessential Steve moments I have on video...for your viewing pleasure, here is Dad, trying to convince me to quit videoing Jacob's first pony ride so I can capture him training a peacock to jump for food...like I said, quintessential Dad!

Just enjoying a lovely dinner with friends...

It is important to NEVER wear your finest clothes when dining with friends, because you just NEVER know what the children will get into:

They bathed themselves in mud in the creek!!!

Sprinkler Day

The most entertaining part of the day was something I didn't even find out until this morning.  Thomas was  initially wearing a swim diaper, but after pooping, I took it off him and let him go commando.  When I went in the backyard this morning to get a ball, I almost stepped in the rest of Thomas' mess he had done on the grass, right by the sprinkler!  Bahahhaah!  (and gross)

And Just Another Tenacious Tuesday!

(Get it?  I'm trying to use alliteration in my days o' the week titles!)

We got to enjoy a few hours of play time with some sweet friends from the neighborhood this afternoon...and this is what it looked like. (You might not want me to watch your kids for you after you see this)

It all started off so well...a little painting on the deck, Tom was the only one slightly out of control...

And now, you can see that Mady has the first splash of paint on her face...and Thomas obviously loves it!

I liked this picture...of course I can't remember what was going on here, but Kyle was having a ball, and Ethan was trying to tell Kyle to stop doing whatever it was he was doing...classic facial expressions

The beginning of the end...

Yep, and then it was all over...poster paint on the face

and on this face

and eventually on this face (but a quick break for a strong man pose!)

It took a lot of work to get Jacob's face on

Oh man, I was too late to stop the face painting brigade from getting the baby!

Lovely Little Saturday

In keeping with the trend this year, we experienced some spectacular warm and sunny weather today...so much so, I'm guessing Tomcat is going to be a little pink in the cheeks tomorrow when he gets up! Oops- time to grab the baby suntan lotion!

We had an interesting week this week which included not one, not two, but THREE stinkin' trips to Ikea.  Good thing Jeff and I weren't armed, otherwise there would have been some fatalities up in there today...long story short:  I will never go back to Ikea, Jeff has reminded me that paying more to buy local is way better than what we experienced today... but on the other hand, I am very happy with the way Jacob's playroom art/school desk came out!

So yea, after an early morning trip to Ikea to find our missing desk piece, we headed back to Cartersville to the Booth Museum for their springtime cowboy gathering.  Compared to the fall festival we went to, this was a HUGE BUST!  But that's OK because we're members and didn't have to pay anything!  Haha!

Then, we hit up Lowe's for some junk, and came home to do some more stuff, like cut the grass, spray paint stuff, and play outside!

Jacob had a great afternoon of learning to ride around in circles in the cul-de-sac...he was really nervous about the constant turning involved!  We prayed and asked Jesus to please help him calm down and not be so nervous and to believe that God was with him even when he was riding his bike, and it worked!  He got on his bike and rode!

 Sweet buddy boy Thomas

Jeffy takes Thomas on his first bike ride!

The boys cruisin' the cul-de-strip!  Get it?!

 Thomas loved wearing the helmet!

And again, showcasing Thomas' love of his helmet

This picture sums up our afternoon...Thomas cutting some grass, in his diaper, Jacob wandering back up the hill so he can ran down, dive, fall on his head, etc. , Jeff watching and waiting for an unlucky squirrel to cross his path and then shoot that sucker, and all of my spray painting paraphernalia set up in the background.

Best Week Ever

It is truly the best week ever for those of you out there (grandparents) who like to see pictures of kids!  I brought the camera out again today!  Here are some shots of play time in the BEAUTIFUL weather today:

Miss Jeannie and Zane versus Tommy Tsunami
(actually Thomas LOVES Zane...and judging by a 3 month olds facial expressions, I would deduce that he also loves Thomas!)

Checking out Zane's soft spot, like all good friends do!
